Pulis refusing to accept Stoke City are safe
10:00 AM 20 March, 2011
Tony Pulis doesn’t agree that Stoke City have secured their Premier League status.

A 4-0 win over Newcastle United on Saturday lifts the Potters into tenth place in the top-flight, five points clear of third-bottom Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Whilst many pundits and fans are discounting City being involved in a relegation fight, Pulis is refusing to accept he and his players have done enough just yet.

“You know, we have got to concentrate on the league,” he told sky Sports. “I know we have got to a semi-final of a FA Cup but picking up the league points is very, very important for us.

"We've still got to get points. You look at the table again and it looks as though it's going to be over 40 points now so we have to get there as quickly as we can.”
