Now ambitious Blackburn Rovers eye Forlan
10:30 AM 31 March, 2011
Diego Forlan is the latest superstar being linked with Blackburn Rovers Football Club.

The Indian owners of the Lancashire club have shown huge ambition since completing their takeover, with a number of top stars being linked with arriving.

Brazilian ace Ronaldinho was a reported target in the New Year, as was David Beckham, whilst this week Ruud van Nistelrooy has been linked.

And now it is another former Manchester United player, Forlan, who is believed to have made his way onto the Rovers wanted list ahead of the window reopening.

The Uruguayan international is currently plying his trade in Spain with Atletico Madrid, but he admits he could be on the move in the summer.

"I have two years left on my contract at Atletico Madrid and I am really happy there, but you never know in football," Forlan told Sky Sports. "If there was a nice offer, you have to see.”

Despite these comments, it is widely thought the 31-year-old would only quit the Spanish capital for a club who, at the very least, are competing in the UEFA Europa League.
