Chris Riggott is hopeful of a regular run in the first-team.

Loaned out to Stoke City towards the end of last season, the centre-half made his first 'Boro appearance of the season at Portsmouth on Saturday.

“It not always as straightforward as you think, you know, sometimes you’re not sure what’s going to happen and you’ve just got to get on with it,” he told the Evening Gazette.

“At the moment, obviously I’m massively keen to stay here and play well and try to win my place in the side.

"I enjoyed playing a few games in the Championship, but it’s a different world to be honest - you want to play, at the top.”
