Arsenal Football Club will turn to Emilio Izaguirre if Gael Clichy leaves this summer.

The future of the France international at the Emirates Stadium has been of some doubt this season, as he approaches the final twelve months of his contract.

Clichy insists he wants to remain with the Gunners, but if he doesn’t agree fresh terms in the coming weeks, Arsene Wenger will look to offload him.

And reports suggest the French coach will then turn to Honduran international Izaguirre, who has enjoyed a fine debut season in Scotland with Celtic.

The Bhoys are desperate to keep hold of the 24-year-old, but they would find it difficult to reject offers in the region of £10million when the window reopens.
