Tottenham Hotspur tipped to make Forlan play
10:00 AM 24 June, 2011
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club are expected to make a play for Diego Forlan.

Although he was largely unsuccessful during his previous spell in England with Manchester United, the Uruguay international has since become a big hit in Spain.

Firstly with Villarreal and now of Atletico Madrid, the 32-year-old is one of the most prolific strikers in La Liga, but he is believed to be keen on a return to the Premier League.

Harry Redknapp remains eager to shake up his attacking options ahead of the new season, and it is being claimed in Spain that the Spurs boss could move for Forlan.

Daniel Levy's policy is to try and buy younger players who would have a sell on value. Whilst this would not stop the club buying an older player for the right money, Athletico don't want Forlan to leave and the price they put on him previously was simply not realistic. To me this rumour is just 'paper talk'. Spurs need a Striker(s) more than they need a center half though with Gallas aging it can not be denied that they need a stopper too.

Surely it would be better to obtain a decent centre half before thinking of getting another striker? Without one Spurs can forget about winning anything next season.

Dawson has been one of our finest players in the defence, william gallas has been as good or even better! Ledely King is returning to more games a week and still plays to a amazing standard when he doesn't train. Sure, woodgate has left but bassong is decent enough for time. Im not saying we dont need another centre back, but a striker is a definate, diego forlan has been in the premier league so has experience and is a striker who scores goals regularly ... which ours dont..its a good move to buy him , plus he will be cheaper as he is on the transfer list !

I would love Forlan at WHL, it is a mouth watering thought, Van Der Man and Forlan up front, both love scoring, and both love poaching, with the sale of possibly Jenus and Palicos in the pipeline, along with maybe Krankcar, we could get him, and have still more money to fund other players,
