Pascal Chimbonda is ready to quit Sunderland Football Club if he has the chance to join Lyon.

The French champions are said to be interested in signing the out-of-favour Black Cats fullback, who admits he would relish the prospect of joining Claude Puel’s side.

Chimbonda told Aujourd'hui Sport: "Who would refuse Lyon? Me, I would go there on foot to sign. For the moment, they haven't called me. But I am happy a big club is interested in me.

"With Lyon, you get the UEFA Champions League and the Ligue 1 title every year.

“Lyon, for a player like me, would be a very good solution."
