Alberto Aquilani and David N’Gog could be offered a fresh chance at Liverpool.

Italian international Aquilani failed to make an impact at Anfield following his arrival in 2009, and he spent last season on loan at Juventus.

N’Gog, meanwhile, has failed to live up the reputation he arrived with in 2008, and he was on the brink of a move to Sunderland earlier this summer.

However, it appears as though both players could have a future on Merseyside this season, judging by a message posted on Twitter by the Reds owner.

“One missing link last year: Aquilani," John Henry wrote. "Put the ball near N’Gog and the goal and it's going in. Too much talk of them somewhere else."
