Charlie Adam is sure Liverpool will be competing for silverware this season.

The Scotland international has finally joined the Reds this summer, after earlier this month completing a £9million transfer from Blackpool.

Adam is one of three big-money signings made by Kenny Dalglish this summer, and he feels the Anfield club are well placed to push for silverware in the coming months.

“It's going to be tough, but with our latest signings I'm confident enough to say that we will pose a genuine assault for not only the Premier League, but for the cups as well,” he said.

As well as the 25-year-old, the Merseyside club have spent £16million on Sunderland’s Jordan Henderson and £20million on Aston Villa ace Stewart Downing.
