Gareth Barry feels John Guidetti can become a huge star for Manchester City.

The 19-year-old was expected to quit the Blues in search of regular first team football when his contract expired this summer, but he has instead signed a new three-year deal.

Guidetti scored for City in their pre-season win over Vancouver Whitecaps earlier this week, and Barry is tipping the Swedish striker to press on in the coming seasons.

“I think he can have a good future at Manchester City,” he told Sky Sports. “He is strong like a typical English striker although he is Swedish. He has good technique, and he will have time here.”
