Latics wary of Liverpool’s Hugo interest
Wigan Athletic Football Club are eager to tie Hugo Rodallega to a new contract.
The Colombian international has been at the DW Stadium since January 2009, but he is now in the final twelve months of his current deal.
Liverpool are said to be interested in landing Rodallega ahead of the new season, but the Latics are hoping to tie the striker to fresh terms.
“We'll be talking to Hugo when he gets back, and as far as I know he's happy here. We'd like him to stay,” chairman Dave Whelan told the Wigan Evening Post.
"We've not had an offer in for Hugo, and Roberto Martinez will be keen to get something sorted on that one. We do not want to be selling him, though - absolutely not."
