Charlie Adam is eager to help Liverpool Football Club rediscover their glory era.

The Scotland international joined the Reds in a £7million deal from Blackpool earlier this summer, having been chased by Kenny Dalglish since the winter.

And Adam can’t wait to begin the new season at the Merseyside club, who have failed to add to their honours list since the FA Cup success of 2006.

"I can't wait to get started and hopefully this will be a successful period in my career and in the club's history," he told the club's official website.

"At the end of the day you can get judged on trophies and you want to win as many as you can. This club has had a lot of success over the years, so let's get back to doing that."
