Liverpool Football Club hope to wrap up a deal for Jose Enrique this week.

Kenny Dalglish is determined to land a new left fullback ahead of the new season, having identified this as the biggest problem position in his starting line-up.

The Reds have long been linked with a move for Enrique, the uncapped Spaniard, who is in the final twelve months of his contract at Newcastle United.

And it is believed Dalglish hopes to wrap up a deal for the 25-year-old before the weekend, with an offer of £5million heading to St James Park for the player.
