Thomas Sorensen is wanted by Manchester City Football Club.

Roberto Mancini agreed to let Shay Given leave for Aston Villa last month, as the Republic of Ireland international was eager for regular first team football.

The Italian coach is now looking for a quality replacement to provide cover and competition for Joe Hart, who has established himself as number one for club and England.

It is believed Mancini is keen on experienced Denmark international Sorensen, 35, who has lost his place in the Stoke City side to Asmir Begovic and could be available for £2million.
