Jack Rodwell is confident Everton can proposer without Mikel Arteta.

The Spanish midfielder has been one of the mainstays of the Toffees side in recent seasons, but he was sold to Arsenal for E10million on deadline day.

Whilst many fans are mourning the departure of the playmaker, Rodwell has attempted to lift spirits by insisting David Moyes already has potential replacements – including him.

"I think this is the season for me," said the 20-year-old. "He [Arteta] is a great player. He's a good lad as well. He will be a miss but we've got a lot of young players who can fill in."
