Manchester United youngster Tom Cleverley insists he is not the new Paul Scholes.

Reds legend Scholes is one of the most popular players to ever play for the Old Trafford club, and he left a huge void when he announced retirement last season.

Cleverley has since been drafted into the midfield and he has performed admirably, but the 22-year-old has distanced himself from comparisons with the former England international.

"I don't think you can compare anybody to Paul Scholes. He was a great player, and that's what I want to be as well. I want to make my own name in the game," he told the official club site.
