Liverpool Football Club have been linked with a move for Fabricio Coloccini.

The Argentina international has been a huge hit at Newcastle United, where he was made club captain following the sale of Kevin Nolan to West Ham United in the summer.

Coloccini, who has 34 caps for his country, is under contract at St James Park until the summer of 2013, but reports suggest Kenny Dalglish wants him at Anfield in a £12million deal.

If the Reds manager persuades the Magpies to sell the defender, then the 29-year-old would link up with his former team-mates Andy Carroll and Jose Enrique on Merseyside.
