Lukaku not an option for Everton
09:00 AM 24 November, 2011
Reports linking Everton with a move for Romelu Lukaku are wide of the mark.

The Belgian international made a big-money move to Chelsea in the summer, when he was recruited from Anderlecht for a fee of £18million.

Andre Villas-Boas is confident the 18-year-old will be a huge hit at Stamford Bridge, but the striker is very much seen as one for the future.

The Daily Mail claim David Moyes wants Lukaku on loan in January, but as the youngster has already played for two teams in the same season, rules forbid him representing a third.

If the rule was still 2 clubs per calendar year then he wouldn't be able to play for another club. However the rule is now 2 clubs per SEASON. He's only played for Chelsea this season (2011/12). His last game for any other club was for Anderlecht during the 2010/11 season. Whoever wrote this article is getting confused with calendar years and seasons. The rule was changed to playing for 2 clubs per season following Mascherano's move to Liverpool.
