Newcastle United Football Club have taken an interest in Nathaniel Clyne.

Alan Pardew’s side suffered a 3-1 loss at Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, yet this is their only defeat in twelve Premier League outings.

Such form has sparked suggestions they are capable of challenging for a place in Europe, and the United boss will be given cash to further boost his squad in January.

It is believed Pardew has set his sights on highly-rated Crystal Palace right fullback Clyne, 20, who is under contract until the end of the current season.
