Bendtner eases Sunderland fears
10:00 AM 25 November, 2011
Nicklas Bendtner has indicated he would be happy to stay at Sunderland Football Club.

The Arsenal striker is on loan at the Stadium of Light for the course of the season, and Steve Bruce has made no secret of his desire to keep him on a permanent basis.

Bendtner’s form for Denmark has forced the Black Cats boss to reveal his concerns that other clubs may take an interest, but the 23-year-old has indicated he would be willing to stay on Wearside.

“I read that I'd said if I don't play in the Champions League, I won't be playing for Sunderland,” said the 23-year-old. "That is not the case but I know how they misinterpret Danish into English.

“Every player wants to play in the Champions League. But I haven't ruled out staying at Sunderland. I just want to enjoy the year I have here and then see what happens in the summer."
