Owls manager Brian Laws would like to keep Stoke defender at the club after his loan spell expires.

Buxton's Stoke contract expires next summer and both Laws and the player are open to him staying at Hillsborough.

Laws told the Star, "Lewis has been a good acquisition and is a player we'd like to have in our squad."

Buxton said, "My contract with Stoke is up in the summer and I need to sort something out as soon as I can.

"Sheffield Wednesday is a big club that can go places. I would certainly consider coming here if the chance was to come about."
