Kenny Dalglish insists Liverpool Football Club’s Steven Gerrard has not suffered an injury setback.

The England international has struggled with an ankle problem for some time, and he has made just four appearances in the Premier League this season.

Gerrard hasn’t featured since the end of October, but Dalglish has rubbished suggestions that the 31-year-old has suffered a setback in his rehabilitation.

“Steven is getting closer to coming back but we cannot put a date on it," he told the Sunday Mirror. "There's been no setback. Steven's progress has been excellent and he will be back sooner rather than later."
