Russell Anderson has left Derby County Football Club by mutual consent.
The defender initially joined the Rams in January 2010 after an injury-riddled spell at Sunderland, and his contract at Pride Park was due to expire in the summer.
However, the 33-year-old has endured more injury worries with the Rams, and he has now had his contract at the Championship club cancelled by mutual consent.
"Russell Anderson is a fantastic professional who moves on with our very best wishes," manager Nigel Clough told the club's official website.
"He has been unlucky with a few injuries and the form of other players during his time with us, but throughout the last two years and he has been nothing but a positive influence in the dressing room.”
