There is no chance of Reading Football Club selling Alex McCarthy.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper is currently on loan at Championship rivals Leeds United, and he has produced a number of impressive performances this season.

This has led to speculation that the Whites could look to take him on a permanent basis, but Royals manager Brian McDermott has ruled out such a possibility.

"Absolutely no chance whatsoever. It's not even worth discussing,” he told the Chronicle. "Alex is playing for them on loan at the moment, but that's all. It works for both them and most importantly for Alex."
