Chelsea Football Club are plotting a bid for Gonzalo Higuain.

These are interesting times at Stamford Bridge, with new coach Andre Villas-Boas eager to stamp his own authority on the Premier League club.

Nicolas Anelka has already agreed a transfer for January, whilst Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou are out of contract at the end of the season.

According to the Daily Star, Villas-Boas wants to shake up his attacking options by adding Argentina international Higuain to his squad in a £30million deal.

The 24-year-old has scored 12 goals in La Liga for Real Madrid this term, and although even this can’t guarantee him a regular first team spot, Jose Mourinho would unlikely let him go.
