Liverpool told to forget Defoe interest
06:00 PM 16 January, 2012
There is no way Tottenham Hotspur Football Club will sell Jermain Defoe.

The England international is struggling for regular first team football at White Hart Lane this season, and he is thought to be weighing up his options this month.

Liverpool are believed to be keeping tabs on the 29-year-old’s situation, but Harry Redknapp insists there is no way he could consider letting Defoe leave during the window.

"Our chairman Daniel Levy spoke to his agent who said Jermain is not happy because he wants to play and he has got a few clubs in for him,” said the Spurs manager.

“He is not moving anywhere though. He is on contract here and is a big player for us and is going to be an important player. He is a good lad. And I would not even consider letting him out on loan."
