West Bromwich Albion Football Club look set to give up on Liam Ridgewell.

Roy Hodgson has seen an offer for the Birmingham City defender rejected this week, and he has now indicated he will look elsewhere rather than tabling an improved bid for the 27-year-old.

“We made our bid and we perhaps have to start looking elsewhere,” he told the official club website. "I don't think the club is anxious to improve that bid.

"As far as I'm concerned it was an idea that came up and I thought it was a good idea at the price we thought would be a possibility. But if it's not a possibility then we'll have to move away.”
