Harry Redknapp feels Sebastien Bassong had to leave Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

The Cameroon international has struggled to force his way into the first team picture at White Hart Lane this season, having made just five Premier League appearances.

Bassong had long been linked with a move during the January transfer window, and he completed a switch to Wolverhampton Wanderers on deadline day.

The 25-year-old will spend the rest of the season on loan at the Premier League strugglers, and Spurs manager Redknapp said: "Seb needs to go - his head's down."
