Aston Villa Football Club’s Ashley Young is unsurprisingly attracting interest.

Eyebrows were raised when Martin O’Neill forked out £9.6million to take the winger from Watford in the New Year of 2007, but the player has proved to be a quality signing.

Indeed, not only is Young sure to figure in Fabio Capello’s England plans for the foreseeable future, but he has been rated as highly as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi by O’Neill.

Perhaps in the future, though, the Villa boss will not be so public with his praise for Young, as reports in Spain suggest Juande Ramos is lining up a £20million bid to take him to Real Madrid.

Even an offer of such value is likely to be rejected by Villa, and the 23-year-old is happy in the Midlands where he is aiming to help his side into next season’s UEFA Champions League.
