Alex McLeish felt Darren Bent could have helped Aston Villa to three points on Sunday.
The Midlands club fell to a 2-1 defeat at high-flying Newcastle United at St James Park, with on-loan LA Galaxy star Keane scoring the goal for the visiting side.
However, it was the Irishman’s team mate Bent who was presented with the better chances during the game, and McLeish feels his lack of finishing ultimately cost his team.
"I'm disappointed we never won," he told Sky Sports. "We made about five chances and they all fell to our top man and our top marksman - Benty.
"I think we had one or two others near the end. On another day Benty would have had a hat-trick. But I'm really pleased with the way we played.”
