Arsene Wenger is optimistic Arsenal Football Club can finish the season on a high.

The Gunners have never finished outside of the top four during Wenger’s 15 years in charge of the club, but they face their toughest test yet to maintain this record.

But the French coach remains optimistic his side can finish strongly and ensure qualification to the UEFA Champions League, starting with the trip to Sunderland this weekend.

"We still have real hope that we can finish the season the strongest," Wenger told the club's official website. "We have a good spirit and desire within the group - and we have quality.

"We know that with the position we are in we need an exceptional consistency, so that is the challenge we have in front of us at the Stadium of Light.”
