Arsene Wenger admits he wanted Thierry Henry to extend his loan spell at Arsenal Football Club.
The French striker is on loan at the Emirates Stadium from New York Red Bulls, and marked his last Premier League outing for the club with the winner against Sunderland on Saturday.
Henry is set to return to the United States after the UEFA Champions League clash with Milan in the coming week, after Wenger revealed he has failed to secure the striker on an extended deal.
“I tried. I will not try again because we accept the agreement from the start and we will respect it,” the Gunners coach told Sky Sports after the win at the Stadium of Light.
