Diego Maradona believes Sergio Aguero made a mistake in joining Manchester City.

The Blues paid around £35million for the Argentina international in the summer, and he has wasted little time in making a big impact in the Premier League.

Aguero already has 15 goals in 24 games for the Blues as they push for a first league title since 1968, and he is firmly established as a favourite at the Etihad Stadium.

However, his father in law, the legendary Maradona, believes his compatriot made a mistake when joining City, and should have instead sought a move to Real Madrid.

“Kun has to play for Real Madrid,” he told Radio La Red. “Even though he is flying at City, the best thing he could have done is to sign for Real Madrid. He made a mistake.”
