Aston Villa Football Club are not planning to offer Gregg Wylde a contract.

The 20-year-old winger left financially troubled Scottish giants Rangers last week, and he has since been offered to Villa manager Alex McLeish.

However, the Scot has revealed he is not planning to offer Wylde the chance to link up with the Midlands club, despite admitting he is an admirer of the player.

"I wouldn't be comfortable at all about going back and plundering Rangers," said McLeish. "I suppose Gregg Wylde is in a different situation because he has left the club.

“Whether we go for Gregg...I think he is a player for the future personally. His people have been in touch but we haven't taken it any further.”
