Gareth Roberts is set for a new contract at Derby County Football Club.

The 34-year-old defender is set to become a free agent in the summer, but Nigel Clough has confirmed he intends to offer him an extended deal.

"Gareth's performances of late have been of an extremely high standard,” said the Rams manager of Roberts, who has made 35 appearances this season.

"He has been a great signing for us and, hopefully, he will be with us next season as well. We keep saying we will get a new contract sorted and we will in the next week or so."
