Sir Alex Ferguson doesn’t expect Manchester City to vanish anytime soon.
Since being bought by Sheikh Mansour the Blues have spent heavily not just on their squad, but on their training facilities and other areas of the club.
City ended a 35-year wait for a trophy when they won the FA Cup last season, and they are now fighting for a first league title since 1968.
And whilst rivals United may seem to have the upper hand at the moment, Ferguson accepts that his noisy neighbours are likely to be challenging for years to come.
“There's going to be big games involving the two teams for the next decade,” he said. "It will be semi-finals and finals, whatever, because the two teams will be at the forefront."
