Alex McLeish wants his Aston Villa board to give him cash to land Burak Yilmaz.

Scoring goals has been a problem for the Midlands side this season, especially since Darren Bent’s campaign was ended prematurely due to injury.

It remains to be seen how much cash McLeish will be given to spend when the window reopens, but he is hoping to have enough funds to take Yilmaz.

The Turkey international, 26, has 32 goals in 30 league games for Trabzonspor this season, and he has a buyout clause which is reportedly set at just £5million.
