Chris Powell has revealed his pride at Charlton Athletic’s promotion from League One.

The Addicks won 1-0 at Carlisle United on Saturday and, coupled with Sheffield Wednesday’s failure to beat Colchester United, this was enough to clinch promotion.

“I'm really proud of my players and my staff, and all my supporters because we've had it quite tough over the past few years," manager Powell told Sky Sports News.

“This is just a small step towards us trying to make the club better again. It's always been about us. We've had a real belief in ourselves.”
