Manchester City are lining up a bid for the Spanish Steven Gerrard.

The Blues have been keeping tabs on Athletic Bilbao star Ander Herrera, who has been linked with the Liverpool captain and England international.

According to The Sun, City are considering making a move for the 22-year-old during the summer window, with a £16million bid being lined up.

The midfielder remains under contract at his current club until the summer of 2016, but it is thought he is eager for UEFA Champions League football next season.
