Arsenal Football Club could be offered Ricardo Alvarez in the summer.

When it became clear Cesc Fabregas would join Barcelona last year, it looked for some time that Alvarez would succeed the Spaniard in the Gunners midfield.

However, Arsene Wenger lost out to Internazionale for the Argentine ace, but fresh reports claim the player could become available when the window reopens.

The Italian giants are set for wholesale changes after a disappointing campaign, and it is believed they could offer the 23-year-old to the Emirates Stadium club.

Wenger is likely to be interested in finally getting his hands on Alvarez, who is under contract at the Serie A side until 2016 and rated at around £12million.
