Colchester United have told Ben Coker he will be offered a new contract.

The left fullback, 22, is one of several players who will come to the end of their current deals in the summer, and he was unsure if he had a future at the Community Stadium.

However, Coker has now been told that he will be offered fresh terms at the League One club, having impressed during the 23 appearances he has made this season.

"I've spoken with the gaffer and he said he wants to offer me a new contract," he told the Daily Gazette. "It's great news for me and I hope to sit down and get it signed very soon.”
