Manchester City Football Club are plotting a stunning bid for Daniel Sturridge.

Roberto Mancini has already expressed his surprise that the Blues allowed the striker to run down his contract before joining Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Sturridge has been a huge success at Stamford Bridge, but he has lost his place to Salomon Kalou in the early stages of Roberto Di Matteo’s reign.

According to the Manchester Evening News, City would love to take the 22-year-old back in the summer, and are prepared to pay £20million to land him.
