Spirit the key for Charlton Athletic
Chris Powell feels team spirit has been crucial for Charlton Athletic this season.
The Addicks secured promotion to the Championship last week, and have now won the League One title courtesy of a 2-1 win over Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.
Powell became manager at the Valley last January, and he has revealed restoring spirit to the camp was always going to be key in his success.
"The spirit has been huge for us this year," the 42-year-old told the official club website. "I knew with the six months I had last year that that needed to change.
“I needed to bring that Charlton spirit back and I needed to put that into the players' psyche. It's in there now. I've got a special group of players at this club, though.”
