Sunderland Football Club are lining up a bid for Steven Fletcher.

The Scotland international is one of several players who are expected to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers, following their relegation from the Premier League.

Fletcher has been a leading light at the Molineux club since his arrival from Burnley in 2010, but he is unlikely to stick around and ply his trade in the Championship.

Reports suggest Martin O’Neill has made the 25-year-old forward a target for his Black Cats squad, and could make an offer in the region of £5million when the window reopens.
