Reading Football Club are interested in taking Andy Johnson this summer.

Brian McDermott has led the Royals to the Championship title this season, which of course means they will compete in the Premier League next term.

The Madejski Stadium coach has been told he will have cash to spend when the window reopens, but one of his targets will not cost a transfer fee.

It is believed McDermott has made Johnson a top target for his squad ahead of their top-flight return, as the 31-year-old forward approaches the end of his Fulham contract.
