Harry Redknapp insists Luka Modric must stay at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Croatian international has enjoyed another impressive season at White Hart Lane, which has resulted in more speculation surrounding his future.

Chelsea and Manchester United are both known admirers of Modric, but Redknapp insists Tottenham need to keep hold of the 26-year-old playmaker.

"He is a fantastic player, great professional, top bloke. You can't replace him," he said. "You can sell him but you can't replace him with someone as good.

"That's why the other clubs want to buy him - because he is worth the money. We don't want to sell him, we want to keep him.

"Once you start selling your best players you are finished. He's one of the better players in world football. He's an amazing footballer."
