Vilanova wants Chelsea defender
08:00 PM 06 May, 2012
Tito Vilanova wants David Luiz to be one of his first signings at Barcelona.

It was announced last week that the current Camp Nou assistant manager will succeed Pep Guardiola, who will stand down at the end of the season.

Vilanova will have cash to spend when the window reopens as Barca look to wrestle the title back from Real Madrid, and Luiz has emerged as a top target.

The Brazil defender left Benfica for Chelsea in January 2011 for a fee of £24million, and it would cost a similar amount to persuade the Blues to sell the 25-year-old.
