West Ham United would love to take Romelu Lukaku on a season-long loan.

If the Hammers secure promotion back to the Premier League via the playoff final, Sam Allardyce will look to attract some big-name signings during the summer.

Fans FC understands one potential target has emerged in Belgian international Lukaku, who has struggled to make an impact at Chelsea since his arrival last year.

“I need to play more games,” the 18-year-old told De Standaard earlier this week. “Let’s wait and see, but as it stands at the moment I will be going out on loan.”

Allardyce is prepared to give the teenage forward regular first team action at Upton Park, and hopes to persuade the Blues to sanction a season-long loan move.
