Michel Vorm has emerged as a shock target for Arsenal Football Club.

Whilst Wojciech Szczesny looks certain to be the Gunners number one goalkeeper for years to come, Arsene Wenger is eager to find stiff competition for the Pole.

The French coach will offload Manuel Almunia when his contract expires in the summer, and he is also prepared to let Lukasz Fabianski leave on loan.

Vorm has enjoyed an impressive debut season in the Premier League for Swansea City, and the Mail claim he has played his way onto Wenger’s wanted list.

However, the 28-year-old has been named in Holland’s provisional squad for Euro 2012, so it could be considered a step-down if he were to play second fiddle to Szczesny next term.
