Newcastle United will rival Liverpool for the signature of Eljero Elia.

The Holland international left Hamburg for Juventus last summer, but he was rarely used as the Bianconeri went on to win the Serie A title.

Eljero is likely to leave the Italian giants when the window reopens, and he has already been linked with a £7million transfer to Liverpool.

However, latest reports suggest Alan Pardew has also added the 25-year-old winger to his wanted list at Newcastle, and could bid for him when the window reopens.
