Tottenham Hotspur hope to take Emmanuel Adebayor on loan for a second season.
The Togo striker spent the campaign at White Hart Lane, and helped steer Harry Redknapp’s side to a fourth place finish and possibly UEFA Champions League football.
Manchester City coped just fine without Adebayor as they won the title on Sunday, and the Spurs manager now hopes they allow him to take the 28-year-old again next term.
"He was only a loan and his loan is up," said Redknapp. "It is up to the chairman if we could loan him again. I would like to keep him, obviously. He has done great for us.
"But I don't know. We don't pay those wages - the only way we could do a deal was if the chairman did a clever deal like he did this year for him."
